Afrika Youth Movement (AYM) organized a Youth Empowerment Retreat in Nairobi, Kenya from 16th – 19th March, 2017 to review, restructure and plan the movement’s activities, work ethics and membership roles. Members were engaged in thought provoking dialogues, workshops and presentations for four (4) days.
In partnership with the United States International University in Africa’s (USIU-A) Institute for Public Policy and International Affairs (IPPIA), a public Empowerment Forum was held on 20th March, 2017 at the USIU-A premises.
The forum engaged over 80 delegates across the continent and beyond to discuss the implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and African Union Agenda 2063 (Continental Aspirations), the bottlenecks, success, the role of the youth and suggest pragmatic steps to ensure both Agenda 2063 and the UN Sustainable Development Goals align with Africa’s needs and the critical role youth have to play.
